The ATS team is constantly scanning the news and media to stay abreast of the current and ever-evolving industry and global environment. For this information, the ATS looks to a wide variety of news, industry and market information resources, and with the growing presence of online information and social media tools, conversations related to the food industry are increasing. Through our blog on the ATS, we are able to highlight and discuss these current trends and relevant topics impacting the industry, as well as useful resources for news, market information, and exporting advice.
CNN is one such resource, which provides us with an array of political, economic, and occasionally food-related news stories from around the world. CNN has now further expanded its horizons and entered the realm of food blogging with its "Eatocracy" web site, found at eatocracy.cnn.com. Below is a screen shot of the news section this week, highlighting the latest posts to the site.
The site was launched via Twitter this past spring and covers virtually all topics related to food, including news, politics and culture. Food seems to be an increasingly popular and discussed topic in the media and this new site provides an interactive platform for food-related information and conversation. The site contains blogging content on a variety of food-related topics, as well as videos and recipes. Space set aside for comments from visitors, along with an array of opinion surveys, further enhance interaction on the site. As such, Eatocracy provides both a useful resource for current news and trends, as well as insight on the perspective of consumers and web site visitors.
This will definitely be a resource that we keep on our radar and continue to monitor for news pieces, videos, and food trends. Recent Eatocracy news that we've found particularly interesting, which the ATS Web site has linked to on our News and Analysis page include, Whole Foods launching a sustainability program and Los Angeles food trucks. We'll continue to point you toward relevant and intriguing news pieces and blogs on the site, as well as other online resources that we come across which are relevant to the food industry.
If you have any questions or resources which you'd like to share with us, please get in touch.
Until next time…
